Christine Benner, DC, LAc, MS, CSCP

Dr Benner practices Chiropractic and acupuncture at her clinic, Oasis Healing Arts, in New York City. She is a 1989 graduate of New York Chiropractic College and a 2006 graduate of Tri-State College of Acupuncture. She has received a masters degree in Human Anatomy from the New York College of Chiropractic in 2012. Dr Benner is a Certified SOT practitioner and a Certified SOT Cranial Practitioner, as well as a Licensed Acupuncturist. She has been teaching SOT and Cranial work for over a decade. Dr Benner is co-chair of SOTO-USA’s Board of Certification and is a member of the Board of Directors.

Thomas Bloink, DC

Dr. Bloink has a full time chiropractic practice in Los Gatos, California specializing in multidisciplinary care with allopathic, dentistry, and other allied healthcare practitioners. He has taught and studied SOT, cranial and TMJ methodologies for many years and has incorporated a multitude of novel and innovative methods for rehabilitative therapy for autistic children. Dr. Bloink presented his research paper on “Autism and Language Delay, Integration of SOT Cranial Therapy and Tomatis Auditory Therapy to Stimulate the Auditory Cortex: A Case Report” at the International Conference of Chiropractic Research. Montreal, Canada in 2009 and” SOT Cranial and TMJ therapy for unresolved BPPV: A case report.” European Chiropractic Union (ECU) Convention, London in 2010.

Charles L. Blum, DC, CSCP

Dr. Blum is in private practice Santa Monica, California and past president of SOTO – USA, now their research chair. Adjunct research faculty at Cleveland Chiropractic College and associate faculty at Southern California University of Health Sciences, teaching cranial biodynamics and cranial technique. Dr. Blum is a Certified SOT Cranial Practitioner, and on the peer review board of the Journal of Craniomandibular Practice (CRANIO), Journal of Vertebral Subluxation Research, Association of Chiropractic Colleges, and Journal of Chiropractic Medicine. He has lectured nationally and internationally, has written various SOT related texts, compiled SOT and cranial related research, and extensively publishes in multiple peer reviewed indexed journals and at research conferences from 1984 to the present. Dr. Blum is the SOTO-USA representative for the American Alliance of TMD Organiations and a Senior Clinical Instructor in the Cranial Facial/TMJ Clinic at the White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.

Bruce Davis, DC

Dr. Bruce Davis D.C., graduated from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic (L.A.C.C.) in 1988 with a Doctorate of Chiropractic and a Bachelors of Science degree in Human Physiology. He also received a Bachelors of Science degree from Colorado State University in 1985 in Psychology. Dr. Davis founded and was President of the Sacro-Occipital Technique club and Weight lifting Club while a student at L.A.C.C. He interned with Dr. David Denton D.C. where he also met and learned from Major Bertrand DeJarnette, the founder of Sacro-Occipital Technique. He became a Certified Instructor under Dr. David Denton D.C. and helped with the Vector Point Seminars from 1990 to 2003.

He was blessed to learn technique from Marvin Stommel D.C. in Colorado, Dr. Victor Frank D.C. in Utah. Dr. John Bouzis D.D.S. in Wyoming helped in learning about T.M.J. splints where he designed the first splint to help hold the Cranium in a neutral position. Since 2003, he has researched and developed Cranial Specific Technique (The only technique where points solely on the Cranium are used to unlock the tension in the rest of the body). Dr. Davis has treated thousands of very difficult spine cases including the United States Senior Men’s Gymnastic team with several Olympic metal winners.

Kenneth Y. Davis, DC

Dr. Kenneth Y. Davis is the founder and developer of the Davis Advanced Health System, an integrative and preventative system of Advanced Chiropractic Procedures and Adjunctive Therapies that incorporate Craniopathy, Soft Tissue Orthopedics, Sacro Occipital Technique, Applied Kinesiology, Bio-Vibrational Therapy & Clinical Nutrition. Dr. Davis is in private practice in Ridgewood, New Jersey for the past thirty-six years where he has enjoyed a waiting list practice. His patients have included professional athletes from the football and basketball arenas that have included Jason Kidd of the New York Knicks and Michael Strahan of the New York Giants. Other celebrities have included Lorraine Bracco of the Sopranos, Dr. John, legendary musician, and Bobby Brown, CEO of Bobby Brown Cosmetics.

A graduate of the Columbia Institute of Chiropractic in 1976, Dr. Davis was certified as a Sacro Occipital Technique Instructor by Dr. M.B. De Jarnette and was certified by Dr. M. L. Rees in Soft Tissue Orthopedics. He has also acquired over four hundred post graduate hours in Applied Kinesiology having been mentored by Dr. George Goodheart, Founder and Developer of Applied Kinesiology. Dr. Davis was also a charter member of the International Craniopathic Society, past executive treasurer, and principle instructor in the International Systemic Health Organization. He is is also co-developer of Natural Force Healing that he has been teaching throughout the United States and Internationally. Since 2009, Dr. Davis, has been presenting “Three Days with a Master Series,” three one-day classes based on Dr. M.L. Rees’ Temporal Sphenoidal Diagnosis, Bloodless Surgery, and Applied Nutritional Trophology. In 2011, he was presented with Dr. Rees’ over fifty years of research by his son and daughter, Michael and Debra Rees in order to create an archive of this research for practitioners throughout the world.

Adam J. Del Torto, DC

Adam J. Del Torto, a 1984 graduate of New York Chiropractic College. Presently practices in California: Burbank and Catalina Island. He incorporates both sacro occipital technique (SOT) and diversified adjusting techniques in his practice. Dr. Del Torto specializes in balloon assisted cranial adjusting – originally learned from Dean Howell in 1998, but has modified it into his own unique approach which incorporates SOT procedures and protocols, calling it Cranial Facial Release Technique (CFR). He was recently featured on Access Hollywood and the E-Channel highlighting CFR, which has attracted international attention. Dr. Del Torto has had great success over the past 15 years treating patients with a variety different symptoms from sinusitis, to snoring, to Post Concussion Syndrome. He has recently started working with Professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighters for treatment of breathing problems (secondary to deviated septums) and head trauma. He is currently working with SOTO-USA to develop a certification program for CFR, utilizing pre and post assessment tools to create reliable and predictable outcomes.

Carmine Esposito, DC, CSCP

Dr. Carmine Esposito graduated Columbia Institute of Chiropractic 1976 and has been a SOTO-USA faculty member as well as a member of the research committee since its inception. He has been a member of the faculty of New York Chiropractic College’s Undergraduate, Post Graduate and Research divisions since 1977 teaching Cranial, Sacro Occipital Technique, and Applied Kinesiology. He has been in private practice in Brooklyn and Queens, NY, 34 years. In order to pursue his lifelong quest to discovery what the true advantages and limits of natural healing arts are, he furthered he scope of knowledge by achieving a Masters of Science from the University of Bridgeport inaugural program in human biology, with a Certificate in Human Nutrition in 1979. He holds diplomates from the Chiropractic Board of Clinical Nutrition and American Association of Integrative Medicine and is a past member of the New York Academy of Science. He has been a two time recipient of the Sacro Occipital Research Society International’s Researcher of the Year award as well as a lecturer, author, and technique developer. He was presented with the Excellence in Research Award, by the New York State Chiropractic Association, Kings County District, February 25, 1995.

Dr. Esposito is known as a creative genius. He has revolutionized many forms of low force effective chiropractic technique interventions. He and his brother, Dr. Vincent Esposito, are engaged in ongoing research, to prove the efficacy of chiropractic therapeutics with MRI.

While still a student, in his first weeks of Chiropractic College, he attended his first postgraduate seminar in Acupuncture, and soon after that he began studying postgraduate courses of Applied Kinesiology with Dr. George Goodheart. Concurently, his lifelong association with Cranial and SOT began, attending his first of many NY Regional SOT seminars in April 1974, then his first of many worldwide SOT/Cranial seminars taught by Dr. DeJarnette in Omaha, Nebraska in September 1974. He has integrated AK, SOT, and Cranial approaches into his chiropractic practice and research protocols ever since. He is a lifetime and founding member of the Sacro-Occipital-Technique Organization (SOTO) – USA. He has also lectured for the Sacro Occipital Research Society International, the Greater New York Dental Meeting, Columbia University, the New York State Chiropractic Association, and the New Jersey Chiropractic Association.

Vincent Esposito, DC, CSCP

Dr. Vincent Esposito graduated in 1983 from New York Chiropractic College and has been a SOTO-USA faculty member as well as a member of the research committee since its inception. He has been a member of the faculty of New York Chiropractic College’s Undergraduate, Post Graduate and Research divisions since 1984 teaching Cranial, Sacro Occipital Technique. He is a Diplomate and Fellow of the International Craniopathic Society, past member of the Sacro Occipital Research Society International’s research board and recipient of the Researcher of the Year award in 1993, 1994 and 1995. He was presented with the Excellence in Research Award, by the New York State Chiropractic Association, Kings County District, February 25, 1995. He and his brother, Dr. Carmine Esposito, are engaged in ongoing research, to prove the efficacy of chiropractic therapeutics with MRI. He is in private practice in Brooklyn and Queens, New York since 1983. He is a published author in the Journal of Neuroscience.

While still an undergraduate student, prior to even entering Chiropractic College, he began his lifelong association with Cranial and SOT, attending his first of many worldwide SOT/Cranial seminars taught by Dr. DeJarnette in Omaha, Nebraska paving the way to a lifelong integration of SOT and Craniopathy into his chiropractic practice. During the same period of time he also began studying postgraduate courses in Applied Kinesiology with Dr. George Goodheart. Dr. Esposito is also a licensed nutritionist and a certified dietitian in the state of New York and an exercise physiologist. He has also lectured for Sacro Occipital Research Society International, Columbia University, and the New York State Chiropractic Association.

Glenn Frieder, DC, CSP

Dr. Frieder graduated from Western States Chiropractic College in 1979. He has had extensive experience using SOT and Cranial, learned in-depth, from interning with Alan Beardal DC, David Denton DC, Curt Buddingh DC, Richard Stober DC, Santo Puellella DC and worked in the famous Plaza Santa Maria’s Cancer Hospital as the staff chiropractor. He has a private practice in Encinitas, California and incorporates SOT protocols with nutritional and energetic aspects of healing utilizing homeopathic and flower essences for treatment.

Richard C. Gerardo, DC, CSCP

Dr. Gerardo is in private practice Burbank, California. Dr. Gerardo has lectured extensively on SOT, Cranial and TMD since the late 1980s. He lectures at SCUSH and historically at CCC-LA on SOT and cranial therapies. Aside from being a Certified SOT Cranial Practitioner, he is a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Nutrition, Certified in Clinical Nutrition by IAACN, certified in craniopathy, and was on staff and director of the Chiropractic and Craniopathic Center at the Santa Teresita Hospital, Duarte California. Dr. Gerardo has his BS in Biology from California Polytechnic University, Pomona, California is an advisory board member of SOTO-USA. He is actively leading the way with chiropractic and dental co-treatment of TMD working in dental chiropractic interdisciplinary arenas and lecturing on the topic of TMD.

Barry Goldberg, DC, CSCP, NMD

Barry Goldberg, DC, NMD is in private chiropractic practice, Phoenix, Arizona. He is a world renown lecturer on SOT and STO. Past chairman of the board and vice president of International Systemic Health Organization and lectured with Dr. Rees [developer of T/S Family and Soft Tissue Orthopedics (STO)] nationally and internationally. Diplomate in American Academy of Pain Management. Completed Naturopathic Medical Doctor degree at American University of Integrative Medicine. Diplomate in STO, Certified Craniopath, and SOT Practitioner.

Jerry Hightower, DC

Dr Hightower was born in Santa Barbara, California and raised in Oakland, California. He spent three years in the United States Army where he discovered he was no good at taking orders, an experience that pointed him in the direction of being his own boss. It was an easy decision to choose chiropractic as both his parents were chiropractors. He was already an experienced diversified adjustor as his father started teaching him at age twelve. He has been in practice since early 1963. He discovered the wonderful world of SOT in 1977 and has practiced and taught SOT once he had a good grasp of what the “Major” wrote and taught. His involvement with Neurovascular Dynamics – NVD – started at LACC with Ralph Martin, D.C. who tried to entice him into that area of thought and practice. There is nothing like a philosophically closed mind in one’s youth. Dr. Hightower took up NVD in 1982, using it to treat his patient’s visceral and other complaints. He has taught numerous small seminars, lectures at Life Chiropractic College – West, and will be presenting a novel integration of Neurovascular Dynamics with Chiropractic Manipulative Reflex Technique (CMRT) at this year’s clinical symposium.

Jonathan Howat, DC

Dr. Jonathan M. P. Howat has been a licensed Chiropractor since 1978 and is in private practice in Oxford, England and founder of Sacro Occipital Technique Organization (SOTO) – Europe. Diplomate in Craniopathy and Dean of Academic Affairs for the Cranial Faculty in the College of Chiropractic (United Kingdom). Dr. Howat lectures world wide on SOT, Craniopathy, and Pediatrics and has Fellowships in the Cranial and Pediatric Faculties. He has written and developed the modules for the Masters Degree in Craniopathy, is author of “Anatomy and Physiology of Sacro Occipital Technique,” “Chiropractic Craniofascial Dynamics,” and co-author of the text, “Complementary Therapies in Dentistry.” Dr. Howat is in the process of moving his private practice into St Luke’s Hospital, Oxford, England, in April 2014.

Evan M. Hughes, DC, CSP

Dr. Hughes graduated from Life University in 2004 as a Doctor of Chiropractic. He opened his own practice immediately after graduation: Now in private practice in Concord, MA, his practice focuses on quality of life and 90% of treatments in his office involves Sacro Occipital Technique. He treats children and adults and works closely with athletes for greater human performance. Dr. Evan has studied Chinese medicine in Japan, and graduated form the Boston Shiatsu School with a degree in Shiatsu and Sotai. He has taught Gymnastics, Swimming, Tai-Chi and no Kung-Fu professionally. In 2009 Dr. Hughes after passing an examination process became a certified SOT practitioner.

Bruce Johnson, DDS

Bruce Johnson is a native of Eagle Rock and attended California State Universities at Fresno and Los Angeles before completing his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center in 1976. He immediately began practice in Eagle Rock offering family dentistry and quickly widened his scope of care to a more comprehensive approach including orthodontic and TMJ/CMD treatment.

Over the course of his career he has been a member of the California Dental Association, the American Dental Association (ADA), the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain (AACP), the American Italian Dental Association (AIDA), the Glendale Academy of Dentists, San Fernando Valley Dental Society, Orthopedic Gnathology Study Group, San Gabriel Valley Implant Study Group, and a charter member of the American Association for Functional Orthodontics (AAFO*).

In addition to activities of the above organizations, Dr. Johnson has advanced his education and enhanced his practice through numerous educational courses, seminars, and study groups. He is founder and facilitator of the Southern California Dental-Cranial Study Group and is a member of of the Glendale Academy, the Implant Study Group, and the American Italian Dental Association. He participates in conferences and seminars for the organizations above as well as for those such as the International Association for Facial Growth Guidance, the Holistic Dental Association, Mid America Orthodontic Society, and BioResearch.

He has provided presentations for the Southern California Health Sciences University, San Gabriel Valley Dental Implant Study Group, USC Orthodontic Alumni Study Club, California Dental Association, and Sacro Occipital Techniques Organization on lecture topics such as TMJ for Chiropractors, Occlusal Splint Therapy, Muscle and Joint Parameters in TMJ Patients, Altering Occlusion for Periodontal Health,, and the Dental-Chiropractic Co-Treatment Paradigm.

Robert D. Klingensmith, DC, CSP

Dr. Klingensmith is in private chiropractic practice in Sparta, NC. He is Board certified by American Academy of Pain Management (AAPM) and on the Advisory committee and chiropractic (SOT) liaison to the American Academy of Pain Management. Aside from the chiropractic career, he serves as a part time professional firefighter in Winston-Salem, NC and a Law Enforcement Officer in Sparta. Dr. Klingensmith holds a civilian pilot certificate, EMT-B/Paramedic/PA certified in several states, North Carolina level III fire instructor and North Carolina Law Enforcement K9 Officer. Dr. Klingensmith is the executive director of the Sacro Occipital Technique Organization – USA and is a Certified SOT Practitioner.

Howard Lampe, DC

Dr. Lampe served in the Armed Services: US Army, Korea, part of 1946, all of 1947. He graduated from Lincoln Chiropractic College in 1951 and followed up with post-graduate coursework for 1 year at Dusquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA. In 1954 he began his practice of chiropractic in Doylestown, PA, and shortly later in 1956 began his study of SOT under Major Bertrand DeJarnette in 1956. In the late 1950s he went twice annually to Hotel New Yorker in New York for 3 days to study Bloodless Surgery, 3 days SOT with Dr. DeJarnette. He has a vast, unlimited expansive knowledge of SOT both historically and clinically. We are all blessed to have him share his wisdom with us at the SOTO-USA Clinical Symposiums.

Curtis Langer, DC, CSCP

Dr. Langer has been practicing chiropractic in Massachusetts since 1976. While still a student, he attended his first SOT/Cranial seminar taught by Dr. DeJarnette in Omaha, Nebraska in 1974, and has integrated SOT into his chiropractic practice ever since. An avid windsurfer, mountain biker, and snowboarder, he treats many amateur, professional, and Olympic athletes. He was chosen as chiropractor for the 1st Transatlantic Windsurfing Race and has lectured throughout United States for SOTO-USA and the ICPA. Dr. Langer is actively teaching in the ICPA pediatric SOT and cranial program nationally for years. He is affectionately referred to, by a happy 3-year-old patient, as “Dr. Squeeze Head.”

Kristof Konrad

Born in Poland, trained as an actor at the National Dramatic Academy in Warsaw, Poland and the Alexander Fersen Academy in Rome, Italy. While in Poland, he studied and worked with theater and film masters Jerzy Grotowski and Andrzej Wajda. In the USA he worked with directors Kenneth Branagh, Ron Howard and Roland Emmerich. For the past ten years he has successfully worked in film and television in The United States and Europe. Some of his credits include: ANGELS AND DEMONS, INDIPENDENCE DAY, HOTEL CALIFORNIA, NIKITA, SCANDAL, UNDERCOVERS, E-RING, ALIAS, OPERATION SAMUM, THE UNIT, THE AGENCY, JAG, GILMORE GIRLS and meny others. Konrad discovered The Alexander Technique while working in USA. Its effectiveness in improving the level of acting and coping with stress associated with performing and every day life fascinated him. He spent three years training as an Alexander teacher with Jean-Louis Rodrigue and others at Alexander Training Institute of Los Angeles, where he got his certification.

Kristof Konrad has taught for the Berlin International Film Festival, Verbier Festival & Academy in Switzerland, and the UBS Verbier Youth Orchestra. He is teaching Intensive Acting in Film and Alexander Technique Workshops in: New York, Los Angeles, Milan, Berlin, Toronto and Vancouver. In the U.S., he is collaborating with Jean-Louis Rodrigue at the Larry Moss Studio, Howard Fine Acting Studio, teaching for the UCLA Extension Entertainment Studies, Theatricum Botanicum, and Media Access. He recently worked with the cast of “KING LEAR” and “THE SEAGULL” of The Royal Shakespeare Company, helped Sharon Lawrence to create Vivien Leigh in “ORSON’S SHADOW”, Pasadena Playhouse, “ELECRICIDAD”, Mark Taper Forum and the artists of Cirque du Soleil’s “KA” on improving performance and preventing injuries.

Mr. Konrad earned his M.F.A. in Theatre in the field of Dramatic Acting from the Alexander Zelwerowicz National Dramatic Academy in Warsaw, Poland. He maintains a private practice in Santa Monica, CA and West Los Angeles. He is an active member of the American Society for the Alexander Technique (AmSAT).

Michele Longoria, DC, CSP

Michele Longoria, DC graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles, post graduation, Dr. Longoria continued teaching at CCCLA. Since 2001, Dr. Longoria has focused on her private practice in Toluca Lake, California. She has actively continued to broaden her SOT education, and has incorporated complementary modalities, such as yoga, core stabilization and balance techniques, into her practice. Dr. Longoria has instructed in the SOT certification series presented at the Southern California University of Health Sciences, Los Angeles, California.

Jeffrey Malone, DC, CSCP

Dr. Malone graduated from Southern California University of Health Sciences (LACC) in 1995 and practices in Toluca Lake, California. Dr. Malone is a diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Nutrition and a Certified Clinical Nutritionist. He has been active in teaching SOT at the college level at Cleveland Chiropractic College – Los Angeles and at SOTO-USA regional seminars. He has Certified SOT Cranial Practitioner status with SOTO-USA and heads the SCUHS regional SOT and cranial certification series classes in Los Angeles.

Jeffrey Mersky, DC, CSP

Dr. Mersky has been in the private practice of Chiropractic medicine since 1985 and holds certified status as an advanced S.O.T practitioner and instructor of S.O.T (Sacro Occipital Technique) with a special emphasis on Cranial and TMJ disorders. He is also a frequent teacher of S.O.T throughout the United States and has special expertise in Clinical Nutrition.

He served for 3 years as the Vice President of Klaire Laboratories, a 46 year old nutritional company that has pioneered support for the environmentally sensitive patient and currently manufactures pharmaceutical grade nutrients for physicians worldwide.

The American Chiropractic Physicians Credentialing Center has awarded Dr Mersky the designation of APC-M (Advanced Practice of Chiropractic Medicine). He is one of 400 Chiropractors in the U.S. with special privileges approved by the New Mexico medical board to prescribe legend drugs.

Dr. Mersky has completed course work certification for injectible nutrient-natural medicine therapies (Oral, intramuscular and intravenous) through the Texas Chiropractic College.

The American Chiropractic Association through the council on diagnosis and internal disorders recognizes that Dr Mersky has certification in Chiropractic family practice.

Dr Mersky has completed a 300-hour Diplomate certification post graduate program in Internal Disorders for the Chiropractic Physician and has the designation of board eligible Internist. In addition he has completed hundreds of hours of course work in Functional Diagnostic Nutritional Medicine and continues his study in this field.

The State Industrial Medical Council of California has certified Dr. Mersky as a Qualified Medical Examiner (QME) and he is considered an expert in industrial/work related injuries.

Dr Mersky has achieved certification in the administration of non surgical and non invasive Disc therapies through the most advanced Spinal Decompression techniques and is trained in Active Release Methods (ART) a method of care that deals with Myofacial release for scar tissue, adhesions and related muscular problems.

Dr Mersky is an adjunct faculty professor at Bastyr University of Naturopathic Medicine in San Diego California and currently serves on the University advisory board to the President.

The impetus for all of this work….After a bad fall at the age of 10 left him with chronic back and neck problem, Dr Mersky was finally treated by a chiropractor who was able to resolve the pain that conventional medicine could not help him with. This injury led him on a path to help those in need and to continue to increase his education and share his own experience through chiropractic.

Ronald Miklebost, DC

Ronald Miklebost, DC has practiced Chiropractic in San Ramon, California, since 1978 with his wife Stephanie Leonard, DC. He traveled throughout the U.S. with Dr. DeJarnette teaching SOT from 1980-1988. From 1985-1996 he taught elective advanced SOT classes at Life Chiropractic College, West. He is also certified in chiropractic foot care with special attention to examination and casting techniques for fitting of foot orthotic supports.

Dr. Miklebost has special expertise in the treatment of lowback pain, discopathy, and lower extremity radicular syndromes. He utilizes SOT protocols along with innovative orthopedic and neurological diagnosis to treat patients often left with out hope. He is an instructor of SOT for decades and has a warm open manner of sharing this valuable information.

Gary A. Mitchell, DC

Dr. Gary Mitchell is a third-generation chiropractor whose grandfather was one of the early pioneers of the field. Gary has worked with Olympic and professional athletes, and is certified in sports medicine by the foundation for Athletic Research and Education. Formerly a competitive college gymnast, he has studied martial arts, and enjoys rock climbing and mountaineering. He also enjoys learning from his many patients during his over thirty years of chiropractic work. He is a member of the Sacro Occipital Technique Organization – USA and has studied and utilized Sacro Occipital Techniques and Extremity techinques for decades. He is still very active in hiking, mountaineering, and rock climbing and is in full time practice with a specialty in athletic injuries. He has published research at the SOT Research Conference (2010) and the Association of Chiropractic Colleges Conference (2011) on “Sacro Occipital Technique Treatment of Hiatal (Hiatus) Hernia Presentation: A Case Report.”

Robert Monk, DC, CSCP

Dr. Monk was president of SOTO-USA and the primary doctor of the Gentle Chiropractic Office located in Briarcliff, New York from 1987 to the present. His office combines Sacro-Occipital Technique with massage therapy to relax muscles and reduce painful conditions. Dr. Robert Monk, a certified SOT and SOT Cranial instructor as well as a Craniopath, is a founding member of and certified instructor for SOTO-USA. He is the author of the SOT Level 1 & 2 Manuals, the SOT Extremity Manual, and the SOT Cranial Manuals 1, 2, 3, & 4. Dr. Monk has extensive experience in the ability of taking the most complex and making it available for those attempting to learn. This amazing quality is what he uses for the formulation of his SOT and cranial texts and what he shares when teaching.

Marc G. Pick, DC, CSCP

Marc G. Pick is a Doctor of Chiropractic with a private practice in Beverly Hills, California since 1973. In a desire to enhance his services, he attended Emperors College of Traditional Oriental Medicine from 1987-92, and in 1997, he completed the American Chiropractic Association’s 300-hour postgraduate course in Neurology. Dr. Pick is a lifetime and founding member of the Sacro-Occipital-Technique Organization (SOTO) – USA. He earned his Fellowship status in Craniopathy has been a world renown lecturer since 1979. Since 1973, he has accomplished several thousand hours of human dissection and founded Project Human (the construction of a prosected latex humanoid cast from the parts of human cadavers). His article investigating MRI scanning and cranial manipulation and was published in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics (JMPT) in 1994. He has published his research into cranial anatomy and therapy in a book entitled, “Cranial Sutures: Analysis, Morphology & Manipulative Strategies,” released through Eastland Press.

Dr. Pick has created a latex fiber optic model of the Human Central & Peripheral Nervous System for the Wellcome Trust, which is being displayed in their 2002 Exhibition at the London Museum of Science. He has synthesized and organized chiropractic neurology and cranial manipulation developing novel methods of neurological diagnosis and treatment.

Esther M. Remeta, DC, CSCP

Esther M. Remeta, DC is in private practice since 1988 and currently practices in Advance, NC. She Graduated from National College of Chiropractic in 1986 and is on the faculty of the Sacro Occipital Technique Organization-USA. She is a Certified Sacro Occipital Technique and Cranial Practitioner. Dr. Remeta has diplomate status and is a faculty member of the American Academy of Pain Management (AAPM). Honors include: The Joseph Janse President’s Award for Outstanding Contributions to National Chiropractic College in 1986, SORSI Presidential award in 1997. She had a research presentation at the 2013 SOT Research Conference relating to brain trauma, neurotransmitters, and SOT cranial care. Dr. Remeta has presented research at two International Research and Philosophy Symposiums (IRAPS).

She had two research presentations at the 10th North American Brain Injury Society’s Conference in Miami, Florida as well as a research presentation at the 8th World Congress on Brain Injury in Washington DC. Dr. Remeta is the director of Clinical Chiropractic Research Institute, a clinic performing chiropractic research studies utilizing SOT and SOT Cranial devoted to the evaluation and treatment of patients with brain and spinal cord trauma. Her goals include developing interdisciplinary comanagement teams offering brain trauma patients low risk effective methods of care.

Martin G. Rosen, DC, CSCP

Martin G. Rosen, D.C. is a 1981 summa cum laude graduate of Life Chiropractic College. For the past 30 years Dr. Rosen has maintained a successful family oriented wellness care practice in Wellesley MA.

He is the current President of the SOTO-USA (Sacro Occipital Technique Organization – USA) and the chairman of its pediatric committee, chairman of the Sacro Occipital Technique Board of the Academy of Family Practice and the past chairman of the SORSI (Sacro Occipital Research Society International) research committee.

Over the last 29 years he has taught SOT (Sacro Occipital Technique), craniopathy, and pediatrics nationally and internationally as well as lecturing on practice management, philosophy and neurology. He has written the only Pediatric Participant Guide for S.O.T, The Pediatric SOT Spinal and Cranial Adjusting Manuals, as well as a chapter on SOT in the 2nd Edition of Chiropractic Pediatrics.

Dr. Rosen has been a guest speaker numerous organizations such as SOTO-USA, ICPA, SORSI, ICA-MA, Massachusetts Alliance for Chiropractic Philosophy, WCA Clinical Symposium, Forsythe Dental Clinic, Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Channel 56 Health Expo and Children’s Hospital of Boston.

He is currently an instructor for SOTO-USA and the ICPA as well as a continuing education faculty member of NYCC, NWHSU, Life University, Parker Chiropractic College, CCC Kansas and Life West. His articles have been published in The American Chiropractor, Dynamic Chiropractic, The Canadian Chiropractor, The Journal of Vertebral Subluxation Research, the SORSI Communicator and the SOTO-USA Dural Connection. He has also had numerous research articles published and accepted for presentation in the RAC-ACC, IRAPS, World Congress of LBPP, and SOTO-USA Research Conference.

Dr. Rosen is a certified SOT, SORSI, and SOTO-USA instructor, practitioner and craniopath, a consulting member of the Committee for Chiropractic Practice, and is on the editorial board for The Journal of Pediatric, Maternal & Family Health – Chiropractic.

Richard Robertshaw, DC

Dr. Robertshaw is a 1978 graduate of New York College of Chiropractic and practices in San Francisco, California. He is a long time SOT doctor (in practice over 33 years) and has taught SOT on and off for years at Life College of Chiropractic. He is particularly noted for his viscerosomatic teaching, incorporating visceral manipulation techniques with CMRT. Dr. Robertshaw has invented and designed a new type of chair, the “Ergokinetic™ spring mounted split seat” as well as the “Spinalglide Drum Throne.” His practices has concentrated my practice on SOT category and cranial work and visceral technique from SOT, AK and Osteopathic visceral manipulation. He has been teaching CCE licensing seminars for 7 years and at Life West Chiropractic College for 23 years.

Jean-Louis Rodrigue

Born in Casablanca, Morocco, Jean-Louis Rodrigue is an internationally recognized acting coach and teacher of the Alexander Technique, and a pioneer in its application to theater and film. He began his actor training in 1967 with Herbert Berghof at the HB Studio in New York. In 1970, William Ball awarded Jean-Louis a full scholarship to study in the Advanced Training Program at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. During his training and performing at ACT, Jean-Louis discovered the Alexander Technique. He spent three more years training as an Alexander teacher with Frank Ottiwell and Giora Pinkas at the American Center for the Alexander Technique, San Francisco.

Jean-Louis has taught the Alexander Technique for the past thirty-four years. His unique approach to movement education and to improving the levels of performance has brought international recognition. In the music world he was part of the faculty at the Verbier Festival and Academy (1998-2005), a music and theater festival in the Swiss Alps and he is currently part of the faculty at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music. He founded the Alexander program for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute and taught the young musicians and conductors for six years.

He has coached actors working at the Royal Shakespeare Company, Mark Taper Forum, the Geffen Playhouse, the Pasadena Playhouse, and on Broadway, as well as the artists of the Cirque du Soleil in “LA NOUVELLE EXPERIENCE” on improving their performance and preventing injuries. He is currently a member of the faculties at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, the Howard Fine Acting Studios in Hollywood and Australia, and teaches regularly for Larry Moss.

Dwight Shaneyfelt, DC

Prior to establishing a successful private practice in Sausalito, California in 1989, Dr. Shaneyfelt assisted in open heart research at the National Institute of Health in the late 70’s. He published a paper on “The Risk of Sudden Death and Aspirin: Its Effect and Protection from Sudden Death.” Dr. Shaneyfelt first experience in healthcare was at the Reither Healthcare Center in Seattle Washington specializing in the care and treatment of acephalic children and Thalidomide infants. Later in the 1970s he worked as a corpsman in the United States Airforce with emphasis in critical care and after Vietnam received licensure as a registered nurse with certification in critical care, running dialysis units and Intensive Care Units. During his time prior to chiropractic college he had experience in a cardiac catheterization laboratory and as neurosurgical assistant at University of California Los Angeles.

Dr. Shaneyfelt is certified as a Mobile Intensive Care Nurse, Coronary Care Nurse, Advanced Cardiac Life Support Nurse, Respiratory Intensive Care Nurse, Mobile Acute Hemodialysis Nurse, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Diplomate in Clinical Nutrition, and Certified Clinical Nutritionist. From 1977-1981 he created a mobile acute hemodialysis network which function in the Southern California area. Dr. Shaneyfelt graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic – West in 1987 and later studied with Drs Mel Rees, George Goodheart, and Major DeJarnette. Due to his extensive past experience in emergency medicine and critical care he has incorporated DeJarnette Chiropractic First Aid into his practice. Dr. Shaneyfelt in the foremost authority on Chiropractic First Aid utilizing sacro occipital technique (SOT) and soft tissue orthopedic (STO) modalities.

Rodney Shelley, DC, CSCP

Rodney Shelley, DC is a 1976 graduate of Los Angeles Chiropractic College. He has owned and operated single doctor, multi-doctor and multidiscipline clinics for 20 years. He is a certified Sacro Occipital Technique Instructor and Certified Craniopath. In 1978 he began the publishing and distribution of educational materials for use in doctor’s offices. He has taught weekend seminars 2 – 3 times per month for several years to chiropractors, dentists and other health care practitioners. Classes included the use of reflexes as developed by Dr. De Jarnette, DO, DC and Standard Process products. He was an Advanced Technique Instructor at the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic through 1984. He is currently the president of Nutritional Essentials Group, Inc. a consultation service for doctors who want one-on-one coaching on how to integrate nutritional support in their practices.

David Shirazi, DDS, MS, LAc, FAACP

Dr. Shirazi graduated from Howard University College of Dentistry, in Washington D.C. and soon after earned a Masters degree in Oriental Medicine from Samra University while practicing full time. He has completed over 1500 hours of continuing education in TMD and facial pain, craniomandibular orthopedics, Sleep Disordered Breathing and Orthodontics. He has also completed a hospital mini-residency in Oriental Medicine at the China Beijing International Acupuncture Training Center (CBIATC), and another at Kyung Hee University and Medical Center, in Seoul, Korea. After completing his second Board Certification in Acupuncture after Dentistry, Dr Shirazi earned a Master of Arts degree in Psychology. Dr. Shirazi is the director of a state of the art practice, The TMJ and Sleep Therapy Centre of Conejo Valley, that is limited to the treatment of TMD, craniofacial pain, Sleep breathing disorders, and craniomandibular orthopedics & orthodontics. His practice is part of the TMJ and Sleep Therapy Centre international family, one of ten throughout the world, and is located in the beautiful hills of Thousand Oaks, California.

David Simmons, DC, CSP

David Simmons, DC is a 1979 graduate of Cleveland Chiropractic College – Los Angeles and has been a certified SOT instructor since 1984. He has a full time practice in Arcadia, California specializing in SOT methods of care. Dr. Simmons has taught at both the Cleveland Chiropractic College – Los Angeles and currently at Southern California University of Health Science’s SOT Club. He has taught SOT seminars with SOTO-USA since 2000 and is a Certified SOT Practitioner.

Jonathan B. Smith, DC, CSP

Dr. Smith is a 1999 graduate of Northwestern Health Sciences University. He has a private practice in San Rafael, California where he focuses on the resolution of chronic headaches, neck pain and neuropathy. Dr. Smith has extensive training in CranioSacral Therapy, Motion Palpation, Nerve Mobilization and is a Certified SOT Practitioner. He believes that focused learning as a means of self-cultivation and service to others is a key to a fulfilling life.

He started practicing chiropractic in Chicago and then in 1993 moved to North Carolina to study SOT where he currently has an office in Newland, NC. He became certified in SOT in 1996, and has attended every symposium since 1993 and has been table instructor at many seminars. Dr VanHeule uses SOT, CMRT, craniopathy in combination with bloodwork, nutrition, and homeopathy to help his patients. He comes from a chiropractic family where both his father and brother are chiropractors. Dr. VanHeule enjoys the outdoors, hiking and canoeing and is currently active in scouting with his two sons.
