SOT Live Review Course

An in-person review for those with SOT experience or those who have taken the online portion of the CSP program (Certified SOT Practitioner)

Location: Seattle area

This 2.5 day course is designed as a thorough review for those with SOT experience, or the follow up course for those who have completed the Online Portion of the CSP Certification Series.

Instructor:

Jason Scoppa, DC, CSCP, CCSP®, PAK

Dr. Scoppa has been certified in SOT (CSP) and SOT craniopathy (CSCP) and is a board member of SOTO-USA. He has been using and teaching SOT for over 10 years.

Course Summary:

This live, in-person course is designed for those who have completed the Only Portion of the CSP Certification Series, or those want a thorough review of SOT basics. This course is not for beginners to SOT as we will move quickly through the material and a basic understanding and experience with SOT is necessary. We will cover the SOT Category system and all maneuvers therein, CMRT (Chiropractic Manipulative Reflex Technique), and Extremity Technique.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this course, attendees will be able to:

  • Understand and articulate the history of SOT and inspirations behind Dr. De Jarnette’s life work
  • Have a detailed understanding of all 3 SOT categories, including a deep understanding all techniques found therein
  • Determine which Category a patient presents with, and implement pre and post assessments on the patient
  • Implement treatment protocols and care plans based on the SOT system
  • Assess and manage CMRT procedures, with an understanding of how those relate to the musculoskeletal system and knowing when to refer
  • Assess and manage extremity complaints, with an understanding of how extremity issues often have a spinal connection, and how and when you manage these conditions and when to refer
  • Adapt to changes in patients condition by utilizing the SOT Category model
  • Distinguish between the different presentations and categories and implement care accordingly
  • Determine the presence of hypermobility, and what that means in regards to patient care
  • Adapt rehab techniques specific to each patient and category
  • Adapt a whole body approach to care, with an understanding of how nutrition, lifestyle, rehab, and chronicity of a chief complaint influence the outcome of care
  • Integrate different chiropractic and PT techniques and modalities into SOT
  • Have a strong understanding of all material tested in the CSP certification, concepts and a preliminary understanding of the techniques
  • Demonstrate the ability to utilize these assessments and techniques on people in real time
  • Show the instructor that the attendee can perform the assessments and techniques correctly
